Currently the salmon that are being caught are being found with small herring and yellowish squid. It seems to me it might be worth trying some anchovies or small herring in a yellowy-green bait holder head. This might be the ticket to get your summer fishing season off to a good start.
Regulations for salmon this summer are going to be a lot like last year. Chinook will be same as last year, as will be the Coho it seems (two hatchery Coho per day). Sockeye will be closed.
Fishing for halibut in June there are a few tides available the 10th in the morning, the 11th all day looks pretty good and the 12th looks to be a good afternoon. We have to wait until the 26th (in the morning) before the tides flatten out again, the 27th looks to be good in the afternoon. Just today Sea Ghost Charters and his guests brought in a 55 and a 65 lb halibut.
Rental Boats
We have touched up the rental fleet and they are ready to go for another season. New motors are put on every year and this year we waxed up the hulls and interiors. Checked all the fasteners, tarps and seats and got everything up to speed.
If you are interested in renting a boat make sure you call us ahead of time to make sure the weather is ok for going out. We like to keep everyone safe so we refrain from renting the boats out when conditions are poor.
The Juan de Fuca derby will be held on the 14th and the 15th of June. We are looking forward to all the action. Lets hope that this year the winds are calm so everyone has a good productive and safe derby.
Hours of operation
We are open from 5am to 7pm seven days a week.
Give us a call if you have any questions!
