Salmon
Chinook salmon fishing has been great!
The participants of the Juan De Fuca Derby last year got 80ish fish this year they weighed in 297 Chinook! Fishing has been good in Pedder Bay and out through the pass and out to Church Rock/ Bedfords. I have been having success with a gold and green flasher and a green anchovy head. Others have been using gold heads and UV coloured heads as well.
Hatchery Coho are also been found out there at the time of this report so lots more to come. Remember to turn in your heads to the recovery freezer, one lucky angler won a rod and reel for doing so here at Pedder Bay the head recovery freezer is located down on the fuel dock.
Halibut
The halibut windows are a lot smaller in the summer months.

Sockeye: 6 to 10 million given the great marine survival we have been enjoying and the predicted returns we are all hoping to see the DFO open Sockeye for retention sometime this summer. People are already catching them but they have to release them of course.
Rental boats
The rental fleet is all equipped and ready for the coming season. This year is a Pink year so don’t forget to get the future anglers out there and get them hooked! Also don’t forget the opportunity to get some visiting relatives some salmon to take home.
